Founded in 1997 by Marcel James McThomas, our company was built on a foundation of trust, commitment, and a relentless drive to succeed. After achieving over $30 million in annual sales at a major communications corporation—and being passed over for a promotion—Marcel chose to forge his own path. That decision marked the beginning of a journey rooted in entrepreneurship, excellence, and customer dedication.

Our business initially focused on financial services, quickly gaining a reputation for our integrity and our ability to consistently close loans. In 2014, we expanded into the transportation sector, launching a logistics and freight division that now operates across all 48 continental states.

Our transportation fleet features 2022 and newer Volvo 780 trucks—vehicles known for their safety, fuel efficiency, and comfort. These top-tier trucks are not only reliable but are also highly sought after by professional drivers, helping us attract and retain top talent in the industry.

Today, we continue to grow by staying committed to our core values: trust, performance, and delivering results.

In darkness talent will overcome all doubt

After finding myself in a new life—with a wife, but no job—I initially set out with a clear plan: land another position and rebuild from there. But life had other plans. After a string of interviews downtown, I met a man running a simple hotdog stand who asked me a question that would change everything:

“If money wasn’t an issue, would you still be looking for a job?”

I paused. Thought. Then answered, “No.”

That moment was a turning point. I realized I didn’t want another job—I wanted to build something of my own.

From there, Commercial Loan Services was born. What started as a small operation in my basement grew quickly. I began asking every client that same transformative question. Before long, I had over 25 consultants working alongside me, and we expanded into managing 26 rental properties.

That one question became our foundation, our filter, and our mission.

Now, in 2025, Commercial Loan Services remains driven by that same principle:
"If money wasn’t an issue, what would you truly be doing?"
